The full backcountry tour typically takes around five hours, combining lift-assisted ascents with off-piste traverses and descents through deep, natural snow. Itinerary

Start your backcountry skiing adventure early from the base of Mount Cheget at 2,195 meters, where the crisp Caucasus mountain air immediately awakens your senses. The route gradually ascends through wide, powder-covered slopes and gentle ridges, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including the majestic Mount Elbrus. Over the course of approximately five hours, you’ll traverse about 5 kilometers of varied terrain, steadily climbing toward the more challenging upper slopes of Cheget.

As you gain elevation, the terrain becomes steeper, rewarding your effort with panoramic vistas of snow-draped valleys and jagged ridgelines. The highest point of the tour reaches around 3,000 meters, where you can pause to take in the sweeping alpine scenery and feel the solitude of untouched wilderness. After savoring the view, the descent follows a flowing line back through open bowls and ridges, allowing for smooth, exhilarating turns that bring you back to the starting point.
