Shemshak Ski Resort is located in the Rudbar-e Qasran region, 57 kilometers northeast of Tehran, in the city of Shemshak. The resort opened in 1958 (1337 in the Iranian calendar) with the installation of the first two-person chairlift imported from France. In 1996 (1375 in the Iranian calendar), after modifications to its slope and structure, it was recognized by the International Ski Federation as an international ski resort. The highest point of the resort is at 3,050 meters above sea level, and the lowest point is at 2,550 meters. Shemshak features four separate slopes named Aftab (Sun), Mahtab (Moon), Shab (Night), and Training, offering diverse facilities for skiers of all skill levels.
